I am writing to you about a problem I am having in the recording phase of thescreen printing frame.
I bought the product about 3 years ago and, from then until this winter, the sun exposure times using universal photosensitive gelatinQLT(two layers on the outside of the frame and one on the inside) were always constant (4.5 minutes).
But now they seem to increase drastically, what’s more, with 8 minutes of sunshine the jelly (purchased a few days ago) tends to separate in the washing phase after exposure to sunlight, spoiling the details of the image screen printing near me.
We remove the gelatin variable using a new one, but the problem repeats itself. Do you have any advice?
With the information you give us – emulsion purchased a few days before – we can immediately rule out an expired emulsion problem.
The cause must be found in another factor:
The first thing that comes to mind is the thickness of the layer ofphotosensitive gelatin: This can happen if the mesh yarn was changed. A lower number of threads in the screen printing mesh corresponds to a greater thickness of the emulsion.
Therefore, the greater the thickness of theemulsion, the longer the insolation time should be.
In short, the advice is to reduce the thickness of the emulsion to a minimum, performing a final “recovery” pass with the tray to spread the emulsion, and collecting the excess gelatin in the bucket.
